Japan's IHI and Itochu have signed the contract for construction of the Izmit Bay Bridge in Turkey.
Turkey's Otoyol Corporation is working with them on the project. The signing was carried out at a ceremony attended attended by Turkey's transportation minister Binali Yildirim.
The bridge will have a 1,688m-long main span and a total length of almost 3km.
Engineer for the bridge is Cowi and the architect is Dissing + Weitling Architecture.
