The 185m-long road bridge, which is named after US general George S Patton, will be built by a joint venture of BAM Lux and Victor Buyck Steel Construction. It will cross the Sure River and a railway line, supported by abutments and two steel piers. Almost 1,100t of superstructure made from Corten steel will be built on one river bank and then launched to the other side via the main and auxiliary piers.
The joint venture expects to compete the bridge in the spring of 2021.
