Representatives of the Serbian government, Belgrade city and China Road & Bridge Corporation have signed an interim agreement for construction of a new US$255 million bridge to link Zemun and Borca.
The final agreement for the 1,507m-long bridge is due to be signed by the end of the year. The bridge will relieve traffic in Belgrade and allow goods vehicles to bypass the city.
Chinese bank China Eximbank will provide loans for 85% of the funding for what will be called the Chinese Bridge.
