A moveable steel bridge manufactured in the Netherlands has found a home in Colombia after crossing the ocean in kit form.
This moveable bridge has fetched up a long way from the Netherlands where it was fabricated, but already looks at home in Columbia. Credit: ipv Delft
ipv Delft, working with SPIE, adapted a standard design, called Hollandse Brug (Dutch Bridge) so that it could be packed into shipping containers for transport. The structure was then assembled in Colombia and placed on its concrete substructure.
Hollandse Brug has a rack and pinon movement with an electromechanical drive, for a robust solution that is easy to maintain.
