The EIA reviews the impact on traffic, nature and the environment associated with the 4km Storstrømsbro, or Storstrøm Bridge.

Both girder and cable-stayed options are covered in the report.

The new Storstrøm expected to be built in 2016-21 and will replace the old, outdated link between Zealand and Falster. It will carry both cars and high-speed trains as well as a pedestrian and cycle path.

Storstrøm Bridge will play a central role in providing connections to Germany, together with the future tunnel under the Fehmarnbelt and upgrading of the railway between Ringsted and Rødby.

It will be one of the country’s longest bridges, beaten only by the Great Belt and Øresund bridges.
