The Hale Street Link Bridge in Australia reached a major project milestone this week with the pouring of the first concrete segment over the Brisbane River.

Hale Street Link is a four-lane cross-river bridge from Milton to South Brisbane. It features a two-lane outbound overpass for Coronation Drive traffic, as well as dedicated pedestrian and cycle lanes.

Construction started less than a year ago. Other key milestones that have been achieved included the pouring of the first concrete cantilever segment of the bridge deck using modular form travellers and completion of all piles for the second pier. Precast boat units will be installed in the coming weeks.

Piling for the Coronation Drive overpass is complete and the first super-t girder will be installed this month. Most intersection road works at the bridge connections have also been completed as too have several shared pedestrian and cycle paths and a 60m pipe-pile retaining wall on the northern riverbank. Pedestrian access ramps to the bridge and bridge abutments on both riverbanks are nearing completion.
