The US$23.7 million construction tender for the Daly River Bridge in Australia's Northern Territories has been awarded to Fulton Hogan.
The new bridge will be built downstream of an existing crossing. It will be approximately 184m long and will include a pedestrian walkway. There will also be provision for future widening.
Construction of the bridge will allow an extra two to three months of access during the wet season, reducing the dependency on barges.
The current crossing will remain in place and will be used for recreational purposes once the bridge is constructed.
