Glasgow seeks new design for Tradeston Bridge
Glasgow City Council has advertised in the Official Journal of the European Union for a contractor-led team to develop the design and construct a pedestrian and cycle bridge over the River Clyde between Broomielaw and Tradeston. The budget for is US$11.3 million. Contractors seeking inclusion in the tender have to complete a prequalification questionnaire by 14 June and four are expected to be invited to participate. The bridge was originally to have been built to a design by Richard Rogers Partnership, but the plans were shelved as the costs grew too high. The city is also separately advertising contracts for the quay walls and public areas around the site.
