The US$5.2 million Auroransilta (Aurora’s Bridge) is over 160m long and about 5m wide. The bridge design is based on two 50m-long steel arches that soar over Nordenskiöldinkatu street at a height of 20m.

The bridge was designed by WSP Finland and the contractor was Lemminkäinen Infra, with the steelwork manufactured by Ruukki.

The bridge forms a key link in Helsinki’s network of outdoor routes. It allows pedestrians, runners and cyclists to enter the Central Park from the Olympic Stadium area without being interrupted by street crossings. The deck has accommodated a ski track over this winter season.
