The government of New South Wales in Australia is to lease out the state’s electricity provision to free up US$18.8 billion, which will be invested in infrastructure.
Among the schemes to be announced under the Rebuilding NSW plan is US$263 million for the Newcastle Inner City Bypass, which will include grade-separated interchanges and bridges for drainage, fauna movements and bushwalker access.
Other schemes announced this week included the 30-kilometre Sydney Rapid Transit, which will extend the North West Rail Link with a new rapid transit rail line that includes a crossing under Sydney Harbour.
