A new bridge to link Stratford town centre to London's Olympic Park and the new Stratford City development has been successfully pushed into position across 11 railway lines.

The 128m-long, 14m-wide Town Centre Link Bridge weighs 1,600t and crosses tracks at the rail station in Stratford. It was built on site in three sections, which were then moved into position in three stages.

"The Town Centre Link Bridge is crucial to getting millions of spectators from Stratford town centre to the other side, into the Olympic Park," said Olympic Delivery Authority chairman John Armitt. "It will play a key role during the Games and will play a key role in legacy, allowing residents and commuters to walk freely from one side to the other."
