Visiting officials have praised a Philippines-designed cable-stayed bridge for both its beauty and its successful build.
During his inspection of the Camalaniungan Bridge, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr remarked, “We are looking at one of the most beautiful bridges that we have created in the Philippines. And I’m happy to note that it was done as well in time and it was done properly.”
The cable-stayed structure is located in Cagayan Province, 430km north of Manila. It is due for completion in January 2026.

In his speech the president also highlighted the bridge’s flood control system and commended the way local officials monitored the project to ensure it stayed on track, despite pandemic delays.
