The city council in the US city of Reno has picked a pony truss design for the new Virginia Street Bridge.
Four other options were also considered. Three of the five proposed designs were fixed while two were bridges that would open for the passage of traffic on the waterway.
The rejected options were for rigid frame, bascule, extradosed and lifting designs.
Jacobs is consultant for the scheme, which has yet to secure funding.
