Cross boundary traffic between Hong Kong, Shenzhen and the Pearl River Delta region has been boosted with yesterday's opening of the Shenzhen Bay Bridge and the Shenzhen Bay Port.
The 5.5km bridge is the fourth vehicular boundary crossing between Hong Kong and Shenzhen. It is in the form of elevated viaducts and two cable-stayed bridges. The Hong Kong section runs for 3.5km and the remainder was built by the Shenzhen government.
