Calgary Municipal Land Corporation has shortlisted three designs in its competition for the new St Patrick's Island pedestrian bridge in the city in Alberta, Canada.

The three submissions are a cable-stayed crossing by Buckland & Taylor and Kitchell Architecture & Design, a stress ribbon bridge by Arup with Falco Schmitt Architects and a design with inclined arches by RFR and Halsall.

In total, 33 submissions had been accepted and reviewed to produce a "long list" of eight that was whittled down to the three finalists.

The three are due to submit advanced concepts by the end of January, at which point they will each receive a US$47,500 stipend.
