Turkey's highways department plans to invite tenders next month for a new highway scheme that includes a 3km-long suspension bridge over the Izmit Gulf.
The project will be procured on a build-operate-transfer basis. Being able to achieve a short construction period is expected to be a key parameter in choosing the successful tenderer.
