Warsaw transport study
Atkins, UK, has been commissioned by the Polish Ministry of Infrastructure to prepare one of the largest strategic planning transport studies ever undertaken in the Warsaw region. The 12-month study will provide a strategic assessment of the Poland capital's transport infrastructure requirements over the next 20 years. Atkins will identify priority road, rail and logistics centre projects and develop them to 'pre-feasibility' level, at which they could be considered for funding. Potential finance sources include the European Union, other international funding institutions, such as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank, and the private sector, including Public Private Partnerships. Work on the '930,000 study has already begun, funded by the European Union and the Polish Government.
