The design for the Hisingsbron, or Hisings Bridge, is by Dissing+Weitling Architecture, LjusArkitektur, ELU and Leonhardt Andrä und Partner.

The 350m-long vertical lift bridge will connect central Gothenburg with Hisingen, replacing the old Göta Älvbron.

The jury was unanimous in choosing the  design, which is called Arpeggio, describing it as distinctive and beautiful. The bridge's lifting section has four towers that will be used to lift the deck up to 30m above water.

A total of 24 teams applied for the competition and five had been invited to take part in the final stage.
