A worker was killed on Monday while cables were being adjusted for bridge construction on the Hoover Dam Bypass project in the USA. The accident occurred during a routine operation to adjust a cable used to align the temporary concrete towers that support construction of the Colorado River Bridge's twin arches.

The Federal Highway Administration is working closely with the Occupational Safety & Health Administration and joint venture contractor Obayashi Corporation and PSM Construction USA to determine the cause of the accident. All related activities involving the area where the accident occurred have been suspended.
