The Thuan Phuoc Bridge in the Vietnamese city of Da Nang was officially inaugurated on Sunday by prime minister Nguyen Tan Dung. He also attended the ground-breaking ceremony of another major crossing of the Han River, the Rong Bridge.

The 2.1km-long cable-stayed Thuan Phuoc Bridge is the longest of its kind in the country.

Louis Berger Group and Amman & Whitney are designers for the 666m-long Rong Bridge and associated plazas. The bridge is also known as the Dragon Bridge as it takes the form of a dragon flying over the river. It is due for completion in 2013.
