The government of Chinese city of Wuhan has announced the successful completion of an operation to swing a 17,000t section of overpass into position.
Earlier this week, the deck of the structure was rotated 106° and joined to neighbouring sections in an operation taking just 90 minutes. The section had been built alongside the railway to avoid disrupting rail services.
The completed overpass will be 256m long and span 11 rail lines. Completion of the move brings the highway close to completion and it is expected to open to traffic this month.
