Construction is to begin next month of Neak Loeung Bridge, which is set to become Cambodia's longest bridge.
The 2.2km-long bridge will cross the Mekong River to connect Cambodia and Vietnam. It will cost about US$130 million and will include a cable-stayed section.
A ceremony was held in June 2010 to mark the signing of a grant agreement between the Cambodian government and the Japan International Cooperation Agency for the bridge's construction. An earlier grant agrement had been signed in March 2010 for the detailed design.
