Fabrication of the steel deck blocks started in August 2019. The typical deck block ins 45.06m wide and 24m long, although different geometries were needed for the closing block, areas around the towers and the two expansion joints, which will be located at the side span piers.
Each steel deck block has a 9m-wide and 3.5m-tall cross girder. The deck will carry three lanes of traffic in each direction with shoulders and a 3m-wide maintenance walkway on each side.
Some 132 out of 153 deck blocks will be welded in pairs to form 66 mega-blocks, each of which is 48m long.
