The competition is one of six taking place in the Nordic Built Cities Challenge. The six Nordic cities are are looking for innovative and multidisciplinary solutions to challenges connected to a specific urban space.
Kopavagur's project is intended to transform Kársnes Harbour and make it more pedestrian-friendly. The winning proposal, called 'Spot on Kársnes' is by landscape architects Dagný Bjarnadóttir and Anders Egebjerg Terp and architect Gunnlaugur Johnson. It includes two bridges, one of which includes the swimming pool.
