Cambridgeshire County Council in England has opened consultation on the route and design options for a new US$6.9m foot and cycle bridge over the River Cam. The bridge would link the Abbey area of the city to the area of the new Science Park Station.
The first of three local consultation meetings was held this week and there is also an online survey about the proposals, running to 28 July (link opens in new tab).
The cheapest option would be for a truss design, second comes a half through girder (pictured), with a box girder identified as the most expensive. Advantages and disadvantages are set out for each.
