The 1km bridge has two abutments and 14 piers, the tallest of which is 124m. The site created some challenges for the construction team from China Railway Tunnel Engineering Group because of its complex karst geology.
The 108km Yixing High-speed railway is designed for locomotives travelling at 350km per hour. It will connect two other major high-speed railway lines.
