The collapse of the structure carrying Line 12 of the city’s metro has also resulted in dozens of people being taken to local hospitals.
Carriages of a train were left suspended with people trapped inside. Reports say that a crane had to be brought in to stabilise the train.
Local emergency services have posted photographs of the accident.
