The double-track rail corridor will span three states, running from Rewari in Haryana to Iqbalgarh in Gujarat, via Rajasthan. Client for the scheme is the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India (DFCCIL).

The Sojitz-L&T Consortium will carry out the work under an engineering, procurement and construction contract. The scope includes construction of 1388 track-kilometres of railway line, 112 major bridges, 1,188 minor bridges and 20 stations along with the supply of equipment. The consortium is expected to complete the project in 48 months.
