Councils in Cumbria in northern England are asking the people in Workington for input into the types of bridges that should replace two lost to floods last year.
A temporary road bridge across the River Derwent has now re-established a direct road link between the two sides of the town and so the focus has shifted to permanent bridge solutions.
Cumbria County Council is working with Allerdale Borough Council on a public consultation called Workington Connected to capture the ideas and aspirations of local people so that their comments and ideas are incorporated into the bridge designs.
