The 420m latticework structure weighing 2,746t was slid into place on its 22m tall piers.
The project has extended the northern city of Porto’s light metro line by 3.15km, and also includes a 770m tunnel and three new stations. It had a budget of US$107 million.
To celebrate the completion of the project at the end of June, Metro do Porto held an open weekend, allowing people to travel for free to the new stations.
