The Dahisar-Mira Bhayandar elevated link road project has received no bids, leading to a revised final submission date of 17 February. It is the fourth time since October 2022 that the tender deadline has been revised by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

The 5km long and 45m-wide wide elevated road is the last leg of the Mumbai Coastal Road Project and will link Dahisar and Bhayandar, around 20km north of Mumbai. It is expected to reduce congestion in the area by around a third. The estimated cost of the project is around US$319 million and is expected to be complete by 2026.

While one company responded to the first tender in June 2022, the BMC decided to revise the tender with a cable-stayed bridge above the creek section of the route. Fresh tenders were invited in October 2022 with a deadline for submissions of 17 November. It was then extended three times to December 2022, 28 January 2023, and 3 February.

"Since it is a big project, we received some queries from the companies who wanted some time to study the project. It is a design-and-build project, so all difficulties need to be solved,” said Ulhas Mahale, deputy municipal commissioner for infrastructure at the BMC.
