The estimated costs of building the bridge range from US$3.1 billon to more than US$4 billion and the selection committee has recommended Proposal 1, the cheapest of the options. The designs remain anonymous at this stage.

The Thruway Authority Board will vote a final proposal later this month. The competitive procurement process involves reviews of the technical feasibility of each and an evaluation of best value.

Proposal 1 is priced at US$3.142 billion. Its construction time would be five years and 2.5 months.



Proposal 2 is priced at US$3.99 billion. Its construction time would be five years and 11.5 months.


 

Proposal 3 is priced at US$4.059 billion. Its construction time would be five years and 11 months.



The three competing teams submitted their bids in July.
