Soletanche Freyssinet and Vinci Construction have published a short video showing the first cables installed for the new hybrid of a suspension and cable-stayed bridge being built over the Bosphorus in Istanbul, Turkey. The Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge will have a 1,408m main span - far longer than the world record for a purely cable-stayed bridge, the 1,104m-span Russky Island Bridge.
