The project involves construction of a 183m-long cable-stayed bridge between Gulch and South of Broadway (SoBro). Its 90m-120m main span would span a railway. Access to the Gulch side of the bridge will be provided via stairs and a glass elevator. SoBro access will include stairs and a ramp.

Work is led by Metro Public Works Engineering Division and project team members include Parsons Brinckerhoff and Bell & Associates Construction.

The project originates from a recommendation in a masterplan for the SoBro area. The aim is to complete the draft of the construction plans by the first quarter of 2014, with construction starting in the third quarter. The goal is for it to be completed in the autumn of 2015.
