Panama's Centennial Bridge is closed to traffic after the collapse of one of its approach roads immediately adjacent to the bridge.
The earthworks supporting the approaches had become waterlogged during sustained heavy rain and a landslide occured.
The six-year-old cable-stayed bridge, called Puente Centenario in Spanish, is one of two crossings of the Panama Canal. The Bridge of the Americas remains open to traffic.
