The visitor centre at London’s Tower Bridge has unveiled a spectacular new glass floor on its high-level west walkway.
The glass section allows visitors to look down from 42m above the River Thames to see traffic on the bridge deck as well as vessels on the water.
Those who time their visits particularly well will be able to see the bascules being raised beneath their feet.
The glass floor measures 11m long and 1.8m wide and comprises panels weighing 530kg each.
A similar floor is being fitted to the east walkway, which will reopen with far-reaching views of east London on 1 December.
The iconic bridge celebrated its 120th anniversary in June this year.
