An upper overpass at King Abdul Aziz Road connects north and south Riyadh, while a lower overpass connects other directions. The crossing's focal arch has coloured lights that have been set up to give information about a number of daily events in the city. The lights illuminate the bridge at the five daily prayer times, festival occasions or national events. They can also be programmed to reflect the density of traffic on the road.

The bridge's structure is 645m in length and the steel arch is 83m long. The arch has been designed with three redundant cables to give spare capacity should maintenance be required.
