The results of the additional tests on the concrete used for the bridge projects and the Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Link have met the required standard, said the Hong Kong government’s Highways Department.

It said that the organisation engaged earlier this year to conduct a comprehensive and systematic review of the strength of concrete used in the projects has now completed its investigation and submitted its report. All results and analysis indicated that the concrete strength meets the required standard.

The review was ordered after the alleged falsification of concrete cube test reports by a laboratory outsourced by the Civil Engineering & Development Department.
