The new road bridge over the Firth of Forth in Scotland is to be called the Queensferry Crossing.
Five names had been shortlisted from 7,600 put forward by the public. The bridge has previously been known as the Forth Replacement Crossing.
Queensferry Crossing attracted 35.5% of the 35,000 or so votes that were cast and the runner-up was the Caledonian Crossing, with 31.2% of the votes. The other entries were St Margaret’s Crossing, Saltire Crossing and the Firth of Forth Crossing.
