Construction of the 270m bridge is being implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Unified Project Managent Office - Bridges Management Cluster (UPMO-BMC) and carried out by contractor Eddmari Construction & Trading in joint venture with JH Pajara Construction Company.

The project involves the construction of concrete deck and five spans of steel box girders supported by four piers and two abutments. It rests on bored piles of 1.50m and 1.8m diameters.

The US$10 million bridge is intended to promote economic growth in the municipalities of Masantol and Macabebe in Pampanga and Calumpit, Hagonoy and Malolos City in Bulacan.

DPWH senior undersecretary Emil Sadain and UPMO-BMC project director Rodrigo Delos Reyes inspected the bridge construction on 9 September. They witnessed the launching of a segment of girder using a floating crane.
