Rail network Greater Anglia has released pictures of the new steel bridge under construction before it makes the journey to Stowmarket. The modular design features stairs and lifts to create an accessible crossing for stations. AVA is designed to be reliable and easy to maintain, and its stainless-steel structure does not need to be painted. It is also simple to install, with ‘plug and play’ lifts to minimise the commissioning time.

The AVA bridge will be installed at Stowmarket Station on 29 and 30 November, a weekend when engineering work is taking place on the Norwich–Ipswich line. The bridge will then be tested, before it is opened to passengers in early January 2026.
