The Panama Canal Authority has released a request for proposals for a study for a new vehicle crossing on the canal's Atlantic side.
The scope of the work will include analysing the feasibility of building either a bridge or a tunnel and then determining the best alternative.
Companies have 30 days to submit proposals, which will be judged on both technical and price criteria. The authority expects to award the seven-month contract in January.
