Smart Bridge, Glasgow

The Smartbridge gets its name from the fact that it incorporates cable ducting for power and high-speed broadband lines.  In addition, it has the capacity to carry heating to all social housing on the north bank, fed remotely from the south side.

The 90m-long structure connects Dalmarnock and Shawfield, two communities either side of the river, and gives access to a new transport, hub which has been developed around Glasgow’s Dalmarnock Station. It will be officially opened in July.
