The Armadale Line Upgrade Alliance (comprising Acciona Construction Australia, BMD Constructions, WSP Australia and Aecom Australia) has been selected to remove the level crossings. The crossings will be eliminated by raising the rail over the road at Mint Street, Oats Street, Welshpool Road, Hamilton Street and Wharf Street along the Armadale Line.
The preferred proponent has also been announced for a rail extension project. MetConnx Alliance, which comprises Laing O'Rourke Australia Construction, Pritchard Francis Consulting and Kellogg Brown & Root, will design and construct the Byford Rail Extension.
