The financial close allows the disbursement of a first loan tranche to be used to support construction activities, of which some 25% of the works have been completed to date.

The overall value of the investment amounts to approximately US$2.9 billion. IC Ictas has  a 67% stake, with Astaldi holding the remaining 33%.

The concession duration is for a period of more than 10 years, 30 months of which is for construction activities.

The 1.4km suspension bridge will be used by road vehicles and trains to cross the Bosphorus Strait from Poyrazköy in Asia to Garipçe in Europe. Pylons standing more then 320m high will support the deck of the 60m-wide bridge, which will carry eight motorway lanes – four in each direction - divided by two high-speed rail corridors. The project also includes the construction of a section of the North Marmara Highway.
