The three are:

* Kiewit Corporation (lead partner), Billfinger Berger and URS Corporation;

* PCL Civil Constructors and Buckland & Taylor;

* Walsh Northeast Corporation, Traylor Bros and HNTB Corporation.

Proposals with preliminary designs and costings will be developed over the coming months and the winner will be chosen early in 2007. The new bridge will have a main span of more than 300m to avoid the erosion problems caused by the current bridge's river piers.
