A multimodal bridge connecting a hike and bike trail on the Colorado River is nearing completion.
The Wishbone Bridge, a three-pronged structure on Lady Bird Lake in Austin, Texas, connects the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail at three points on the lake’s shores. It will divert active travellers from notoriously narrow paths on the highway bridge across the lake’s dam.

The structure is part of a project by Austin Capital Delivery Services, Austin Parks and Recreation and Austin Transportation and Public Works. At the centre of the bridge is a plaza with shaded spaces, planting, bike racks and seats.
So far, sprinkler systems have been installed on the bridge, and irrigation installed. Trees and bushes have also been planted.
