Construction started this week of a US$27.5 million crossing of the Snoqalmie River in King County, Washington, USA. The 296m-long bridge is made up of two 91m-long steel trusses over the west side of the river and the river itself, and a concrete girder section on the east side. The twin trusses have been designed to echo the appearnce of the existing 80-year-old bridge. The new bridge will have a cast-in-place concrete deck supported by six double-column concrete piers.
