Acciona has won the US$510 million contract, which forms the second package of the South Commuter Railway project.

The work is part of a 54.6km railway with 18 stations that will connect the Philippine capital with Calambá in the province of Laguna. The railway is co-financed by the Japan International Cooperation Agency and the Asian Development Bank.

Acciona’s most recent major bridge in the Philippines was US$495 million Cebu cable-stayed bridge, which was inaugurated last year.
