A joint venture led by Astaldi Group has won a US$189 million contract to build the Hãlic Bridge over the Golden Horn in Turkey.
The project includes construction of a 387m-long steel cable-stayed bridge and a 120m swing bridge, which will open to allow access for shipping. Works are scheduled to begin in early 2009.
Astaldi's local partner in the joint venture is Gülerma. Astaldi has a 51% share. Client for the scheme is the Municipality of Istanbul.
